At the “Asian Offshore Wind, Wave and Tidal Energy Conference Series” held from October 20th to 24th, 2024,
Adam presented the results of our research on “Investigation of the Effects of Irregular Bathymetry on the Performance and Wake Characteristics of a Tidal Stream Turbine; A Case Study of a Tidal Power Site.”
Inamitsu presented the results of our laboratory's research on “Optimization of a Savonius Tidal Turbine with Splitters for Monitoring Buoys”.

I was privileged to attend the 7th Asian Offshore Wind, Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (AWTEC 2024),
which was held in Busan, Korea from 20 – 24th October 2024. This was my first attendance and presentation at an international conference.
It was a memorable and amazing experience for me. I enjoyed the high quality presentations, Korean cuisine and the cultural performance at the banquet.
I was able to interact and learn a lot from different researchers from all over the world.
I was honored to receive the Best Paper Award in recognition of our research,
“Investigation of the effects of irregular bathymetry on the performance and wake characteristics of a tidal stream turbine; a case study of a tidal power site”.
I thank all my co-authors, lab mates, and supervisors for this achievement. I hope to represent our lab and research in future conferences and publications.
